IPAF’s “Spread the Load” Campaign Brings Color and Spectacle to Intermat
2012/01/12
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is taking its “Spread the load” safety campaign to the Intermat construction show with a touch of color and spectacle. Intermat runs from April 16 to 21, 2012 in Paris, France and IPAF is in the Outdoor Area E2, Stand B064.
IPAF’s “Spread the load” campaign calls for the proper assessment of ground conditions when using aerial work platforms (AWPs) and the correct use of stabilizers, outriggers and spreader plates to prevent unnecessary accidents that cause some fatalities each year. Safety messages will be illustrated in an artistic and dynamic way at IPAF’s Intermat stand and visitors can look forward to learning about the effective use of AWPs while taking in the color and spectacle. Also on hand at the IPAF stand is a full range of technical guidance, videos, stickers and posters, also available at Spreader Plates Campaign.
During Intermat, IPAF will be featuring its worldwide campaign to collate reports on all known AWP accidents or incidents at IPAF Incident Database. This is part of the Federation’s recently launched incident database to systematically collect worldwide data on accidents/incidents involving AWPs, with the aim of improving the safe use of equipment.
IPAF will also hold several events during Intermat, including the IPAF Manufacturers’ Technical Committee Meeting on April 20. Details at IPAF Events.
